CAFS PROGRAM
Established in 2002, Harris Park Community Centre was founded on a simple yet enduring principle: to create a welcoming space where members of the community could both seek support and offer it to one another. The Centre's activities are funded by the NSW Government through the Department of Communities and Justice, while Parramatta City Council generously provides the Harris Park facilities at a subsidised rate.
Over the years, as the local area has grown and changed, so too has the Centre evolved to meet the emerging needs of those it serves. In recent times, this evolution has seen a deliberate and meaningful shift towards supporting children, young parents, and families — a direction that aligns closely with the funding body's priorities under the Targeted Earlier Intervention Reform framework.
This commitment to the community has not gone unrecognised. In June 2020, the Centre was awarded a five-year contract to continue its vital work — a powerful affirmation of the impact being made every day. Then, in December 2025, that recognition was renewed and strengthened with the award of a five-and-a-half-year contract extension under the CAFS Program, enabling the Centre to press forward with its mission for years to come.
These achievements stand as a profound testament to the dedication, compassion, and excellence of everyone who contributes to the work of Harris Park Community Centre.
